Guesthouse Albergo Alberga

General

The atmospheric guesthouse Albergo Alberga is located in a colonial building at a very central spot, in the middle of the historical center of Paramaribo, at a stone's throw from the fun Waterkant and the Onafhankelijkheidsplein. All streets in the neighborhood gleam, but especially the street from the guesthouse is one of the nicest streets in the historic wooden center of Paramaribo* (on the World Heritage List of UNESCO).

Alberga Albergo is the perfect choice for travelers who choose to stay in a typical colonial wooden building with the friendly atmosphere, where Suriname is known for.

Facilities

The simple breakfast is served downstairs in the breakfast room. At the bar there are cold drinks available, including the famous "Djogo" Surinamese beer. Sitting on the large green balcony, you overlook one of the best preserved historic streets of Paramaribo. In the backyard with beautiful plants and trees, you can take a dip in the pool or relax on the cozy terrace.
You can make free use of the luggage storage if you are going on a tour. Your clothes can be washed for a fee after a long journey inland.

Most tour operators (like Orange Travel) list their rates in Euro.

The most advantageous way to pay is cash or by bank* in Euro.
Followed by cash in SRD or U$D, then POS in SRD * and finally a credit card payment **.

* If there are any additional bank charges, these should be paid by the customer. If it turns out that not the full agreed amount is credited to our account, the difference should still be paid before participating or checking in.

** When using POS (our machine only excepts SRD) we will use the daily exchange rate of the cambio’s. As these sometimes differ significantly from the rate your- and our bank uses, you can come out worse between 10% and 30% (in this Orange Travel has no benefit, yet influence).

*** All credit card payments are processed in U$D and a bank fee is added. The fee for Visa and MasterCard is 5% (in this Orange Travel has no benefit, yet influence). This payment method requires you to show your passport.

Location

Guesthouse Albergo Alberga is located right in the historical center of Paramaribo in the Lim A Postraat; This street is one of the oldest and best preserved streets in the old center of Paramaribo. The colonial buildings in this street were mostly built in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The Onafhankelijkheidsplein, the impressive Palm garden, the lively Central Market and the cozy Waterkant are literally around the corner. The bustling entertainment district of Paramaribo with several restaurants and bars is a 10 to 15 minutes walk away. Guesthouse Albergo Alberga is ideally situated mainly for tourists because it is on route for most of the jungle tours who are heading in the southern direction to go inland.
