Paramaribo ↔ Cayenne

Traveling between Suriname and French Guiana (Cayenne, Kourou, or St. Laurent)?
Orange Travel offers both group shuttles and private transfers for a comfortable border crossing via Albina and Cayenne.

Please note: The shuttle service is operated by independent drivers we work with and not by Orange Travel’s own staff. This means we do not have direct control over the number of stops they may make along the way, as they wait until there are enough passengers for the trip. However, thanks to our strong collaboration with these drivers, we trust that the journey will proceed smoothly and that you will travel in comfortable vehicles.

Group Shuttle: from €132 p.p. (one way) Includes hotel pick-up, transport to the border (Albina or St. Laurent), crossing by motorized pirogue, and transfer to your hotel. Please note: there may be a waiting period until the minimum number of passengers is reached.

Private Transfer: €625 total (1–3 people) Same route, but without waiting time. You can cross the river quickly by pirogue (±10 min) or choose the ferry (±30 min).
Important: If you are staying outside the center of Cayenne, a surcharge of €30 per person applies.

Transfer Conditions

  • For the shared shuttle transfer (seat-in basis), the waiting time during the stopover in St. Laurent / Albina can be up to 2–3 hours, depending on local conditions.
  • If you have a tight schedule (e.g., for an appointment or flight), or if you prefer more comfort and a customized ride, we recommend booking a private transfer.
  • Timely arrival cannot be guaranteed with the shuttle.
  • Both the private transfer and the shuttle are direct transfers without sightseeing stops, with the exception of a maximum of two short toilet breaks along the way.
  • The shuttle is operated on a shared basis (seat-in basis). This means you will share the ride with other passengers, which may include local travelers and their luggage.

Important Information & Border Formalities
You can check and arrange everything here: Official website: suriname.vfsevisa.com
On this website, you will find:

  • Visa or Entry Fee: You can check here if your nationality requires a visa or if you only need to pay the mandatory ‘Entry Fee’ (tourist fee). For many tourists, including those from the EU, the Entry Fee is sufficient.
  • Yellow Fever: The website also provides information on health requirements, such as the mandatory vaccination against yellow fever if you are coming from a high-risk area.
  • Required Documents: You will see exactly which documents you need to upload, such as a copy of your passport.

Tip: Arrange this well in advance of your departure. Without a valid visa or proof of payment of the Entry Fee, you may be denied entry at customs and control posts.
