Our guide picks you up in Paramaribo and drives you to the Afobakka dam. The professional sport fishing boat is equipped with: a 90 HP outboard motor, an electrical trolling motor, a fish finder, a GPS and a bimini top.

On the way to the Dam you will drive over the Martin Luther King “highway” and you will pass our former bauksite refinery Paranam. If needed a stop can be made for a short break. Once on the Afobakka road you will pass different resorts before arriving at the boat launch area. The dead tree trunks rising out above the water and the wide open view make it a unique environment. After an adventurous hour of boating you will reach a group of islands where the fishing starts. Propelled by the trolling motor you will be trying to catch some Peacock bass using lures.

Around noon we will stop for lunch. This will be served at the resort where we will spend the night. After your meal you can relax or go swimming.

At 16.00 pm the 2nd fishing round of the day. Because of the many tree truks stikking out of the water we will be back at the resort before sundown. Diner will start around 19.30 pm.

After an early breakfast during which we can enjoy the sunrise, we direct ourselves towards the fishing area. Around 12.00 hrs we will be back at the resort for lunch. After lunch there is a possibility to relax. At 16.00 pm the 2nd fishing round of the day. Because of the many tree trunks stikking out of the water we will be back at the resort before sundown.

After an early breakfast, during which we will enjoy the sunrise, we immediately proceed to the fishing holes in search of the Peacock bass. Around noon we have lunch after which we start with our journey back to Paramaribo.

Most tour operators (like Orange Travel) list their rates in Euro.
The most advantageous way to pay is cash or by bank* in Euro.
Followed by cash in SRD or U$D, then POS in SRD * and finally a credit card payment **.

* If there are any additional bank charges, these should be paid by the customer. If it turns out that not the full agreed amount is credited to our account, the difference should still be paid before participating or checking in.

** When using POS (our machine only excepts SRD) we will use the daily exchange rate of the cambio’s. As these sometimes differ significantly from the rate your- and our bank uses, you can come out worse between 10% and 30% (in this Orange Travel has no benefit, yet influence).

*** All credit card payments are processed in U$D and a bank fee is added. The fee for Visa and MasterCard is 5% (in this Orange Travel has no benefit, yet influence). This payment method requires you to show your passport.
