7-Day Three Guianas Explorer 🌎
Discover three unique countries in one unforgettable journey through Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. From breathtaking waterfalls and tropical rainforest to colonial cities, former penal colonies and Europe’s space centre, this tour combines nature, history and culture in a comfortable and well-organized way.
Day 1 – Arrival in Georgetown, Guyana
Your journey begins at Cheddi Jagan International Airport. After clearing customs, you will be welcomed by your guide/driver and transferred to your hotel in Georgetown. Along the way, you will get a first impression of Guyana’s coastal landscape and vibrant capital city.
Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the surroundings or simply relax after your flight. Your guide will briefly go over the program for the following day.

Day 2 – Kaieteur Falls and flight to Suriname
Today features one of Guyana’s absolute highlights. Early in the morning, you will be transferred to Ogle Airport for a spectacular flight over untouched rainforest to Kaieteur National Park.
Upon arrival, you will have plenty of time to admire the impressive Kaieteur Falls, a 226-meter-high waterfall located in the middle of primary rainforest. Your guide will tell you more about the unique flora and fauna of the area.
After returning to Georgetown, you will enjoy a short city tour visiting locations such as the Botanical Gardens, St. George’s Cathedral and the lively Stabroek Market.
Later in the day, you will fly to Paramaribo, Suriname.

Day 3 – Paramaribo and Peperpot Nature Park
After breakfast, you will discover the historic inner city of Paramaribo during a guided walking tour. The city centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its wooden colonial architecture.
You will also see the famous basilica, mosque and synagogue located close to one another, symbolizing Suriname’s multicultural society.
In the afternoon, you will visit Peperpot Nature Park, a former coffee and cocoa plantation that has been reclaimed by nature. Here you may spot a variety of tropical birds and, with some luck, monkeys or sloths.
The excursion ends with a boat trip on the Suriname River, where dolphins are regularly seen.

Day 4 – Overland to French Guiana
Today you travel overland to French Guiana. After an early breakfast, you depart for Albina, located on the eastern border of Suriname.
From Albina, you cross the Marowijne River by local boat to Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni in French Guiana. Your guide will assist with all border formalities.
In Saint-Laurent, you will visit the historic buildings of the former French penal colony. Afterwards, you continue towards Cayenne for a short city tour.
At the end of the afternoon, you arrive in Kourou.

Day 5 – Salvation Islands and Devil’s Island
Today you will enjoy an impressive catamaran excursion to the famous Îles du Salut, also known as the Salvation Islands.
During this excursion, you sail past the notorious Devil’s Island (Île du Diable), once used to imprison political prisoners. Afterwards, you visit Île Royale and Île Saint-Joseph, where the old prison cells and colonial buildings are still visible.
Besides the fascinating history, you will also enjoy beautiful scenery, tropical nature and a relaxing boat trip across the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 6 – European Space Centre and return to Suriname
Today you visit the Centre Spatial Guyanais, Europe’s space centre and launch base for the Ariane rockets.
During a guided tour, you will get a unique behind-the-scenes look at this impressive facility. You will visit the control centres, assembly buildings and launch platforms.
After the visit and lunch, you begin your return journey to Suriname via Saint-Laurent and Albina.
