Is there mobile coverage or internet in Bigi Pan?

There is little to no mobile coverage in Bigi Pan. This actually makes it the perfect place to truly relax and disconnect from daily life.

Can we swim in Bigi Pan?

Swimming is possible depending on the season, although the water can be muddy. A natural mud bath is actually very good for the skin ;)

Is it suitable for children or guests with limited mobility?

  • Children: absolutely welcome
  • Guests with limited mobility: not all paths are easily accessible. Please check with us in advance.

What happens if it rains during the tour?

Rain is part of Suriname’s tropical climate and often makes nature even greener and more vibrant. Showers are usually short and followed by sunshine again.

How large are the groups?

We usually work with small to medium-sized groups. Please note that groups may be combined. If you prefer a more exclusive experience, a private tour is also possible.

Tours generally continue as planned. During rain, activities may occasionally be adjusted, but even in less favorable weather, Bigi Pan remains a special experience, especially for birdwatching.

Is wildlife guaranteed?

Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. However, the chances of spotting many different bird species in Bigi Pan are very high. It is called Suriname’s bird paradise for a reason. Bigi Pan is home to as many as 122 bird species, of which 72 are present year-round. Some species are seasonal. Feel free to ask us for advice!
