Tour Information

Day 1:

  • Departure from Paramaribo to the airport
  • Stops and wildlife observation opportunities
  • Visit to Witagron, a Maroon village, with a lunch break
  • Journey through the jungle to Apoera for overnight stay

 

Day 2:

  • Visit to the “Ergens naar Nergens” railway
  • Meeting with the Arawaks and Trios in Klein Kwamala
  • Afternoon boat trip on the Kaburi Creek
  • Evening social gathering after dinner

 

Day 3:

  • Departure to the Blanche Marie Falls
  • Explanation of flora and fauna along the way
  • Enjoying waterfalls and natural jacuzzis
  • Afternoon at the massage falls and fishing for Anjoemara
  • Evening at Blanche Marie

A Marron village along the route where the group stops for a visit and lunch break. Here, travelers can get to know the local culture and community.

Apoera
An indigenous village located on the western border with Guyana. Here, participants will spend the night and experience the serene atmosphere of an indigenous village.

Spoorlijn "Ergens naar Nergens"
A historic railway originally built for the extraction of bauxite reserves in the Bakhuys area. The guide provides extensive information about the history of this railway.

Indianendorp Klein Kwamala
A visit to this indigenous village offers the opportunity for a village walk and an introduction to two indigenous tribes, the Arowaks and Trio. Souvenirs made by the local people are also sold here.

Kaburi Kreek
A scenic boat trip along the Kaburi Creek, known for its beautiful nature and the opportunity to spot giant river otters. The tranquil environment makes it an ideal place to enjoy nature.

Blanche Marie Watervallen
Located over 300 km southwest of Paramaribo, Suriname. The impressive waterfalls themselves, with over 120 meters of waterfall, are surrounded by the beautiful high forest of the tropical rainforest.
