Program
Day 1:
- Departure at 08:00 from Paramaribo by bus (time subject to change)
- The travel time by bus is approximately 2.5 hours to Albina, where the boat to Galibi will be waiting. The boat ride takes about 1.5 hours
- Visit to French Guiana / St. Laurent on day 1 or day 2 (to be determined by the guide) (French Guiana excludes Bagno entrance fee €8 p.p)
- Arrival in Galibi, followed by a walk to Urusji Lodge
- Lunch
- After lunch, you will have time to relax and freshen up. At 17:00, we will go on a village walk. During this walk, you will learn more about the local community and have the opportunity to visit a small souvenir shop in Christiaankondre, where items made from seeds, beads, calabash, or coconuts are sold
- Dinner in the evening
- At 21:00, you will depart by boat to witness the sea turtles nesting process. The boat ride to the beach takes approximately 20 minutes
- Depending on the nesting activity and turtles observed, we return by boat to the lodge
Day 2:
- An early morning breakfast buffet will be ready for you
- After breakfast, you will have time to pack before returning to Paramaribo
- In Albina, we will pick up lunch for the journey
- On the way back to Paramaribo, the guide will make a stop at the Moiwana memorial
- Arrival in Paramaribo around 17:00

What to bring on the Galibi tour:
- Weekend bag / backpack (no suitcases): Easy-to-carry luggage for the trip.
- Camera & fully charged batteries: A camera is essential to capture the beautiful surroundings. Make sure your batteries are fully charged so you don’t miss any memorable moments.
When spotting sea turtles in the evening, please keep your flash OFF to avoid disturbing the animals. If you have a red flashlight, you may bring it. Our guides always carry one as well. - Good walking shoes: Essential for village walks.
- Slippers / flip-flops: For comfort and relaxation, especially around the accommodation. Water shoes are recommended if you plan to swim.
- Towel: Towels are not provided at the resort, so please bring your own.
- Hat or cap: To protect your face from the tropical sun.
- Long trousers and long-sleeved shirt: For evenings and walks, to protect against plants and insects.
When spotting sea turtles, we recommend wearing DARK clothing and avoiding bright or light-colored clothing, as this can disturb the animals. - Insect repellent: Essential to prevent mosquito bites, especially in a rainforest environment.
- Rain jacket / poncho: For unexpected rain showers.
- Toiletries: Personal care items for daily use.
- Sunscreen: To protect against the sun.
- Small backpack: For essentials during day trips.
- Dry clothes: Extra clothing in case you get wet.
- Cash (SRD / euro / USD): Useful for purchasing drinks and souvenirs. €8 is required for the Bagno in Saint-Laurent. When visiting Saint-Laurent, it is best to bring euros.
- Waterproof bag for electronics and valuables: To protect devices and important documents from water.
- Swimwear: For swimming opportunities.
- Passport (for checkpoints along the way): Important for identification during the trip.

Duration of the Tour
The standard Galibi tour is a 2-day experience, but there is also a more extensive 3-day option available.
Transport
The tour begins with a bus trip along the East-West connection towards Albina, followed by a boat trip to Christiaankondre.
Activities
During the tour, various activities are planned, including a village walk, spotting sea turtles, beach walks, swimming in the river, and a visit to the tiger sandbank (only on the 3-day tour).
