🇬🇾 Ready for your Guyana trip?
Day 1 – City and natural wonder
Your journey begins in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. During a city tour, you will discover colonial buildings, local markets and cultural highlights.
In the afternoon, a special experience awaits: a scenic flight over the jungle to Kaieteur Falls. This impressive waterfall is one of the most powerful in the world. Upon arrival, you will have plenty of time to visit different viewpoints.
At the end of the day, you return to Georgetown.

Day 2 – Into the jungle
After breakfast, you travel towards Parika, where you cross the Essequibo River by boat. Via Bartica, you continue to Sloth Island Nature Resort.
After arrival, you explore the surroundings during a jungle walk. With some luck, you may spot sloths, monkeys and various bird species.

During this trip, you will stay 1 night at Sloth Island Nature Resort, a small eco-resort located on a private island in the Essequibo River. You stay in a comfortable room surrounded by jungle and wildlife.
The first night in Georgetown is not included in the package, but can easily be added. We are happy to advise and arrange this for you, so your journey runs smoothly and worry-free.
Departure date
Kaieteur flights only operate during weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays, and are subject to availability.

Flights to Kaieteur Falls only operate during weekends and require a minimum number of participants. Therefore, booking in advance is highly recommended.
What can I expect from Sloth Island?
Sloth Island is a small eco-resort surrounded by nature. You stay in simple yet comfortable lodges and have a great chance of spotting wildlife such as sloths, monkeys and birds.
How does transportation work during this tour?
Transportation is a combination of bus, boat and domestic flight. Boat trips are shared with other travelers and locals, which adds to the authentic experience.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour continues during rain. Rain is part of the tropical climate and actually makes nature even greener and more vibrant. We recommend bringing a rain jacket or poncho.
