Program
(3 days / 2 nights) Raleighvallen & Voltzberg (from € 325 p.p.)
Day 1 – From city to jungle: the expedition begins
We depart early from Paramaribo and head to the village of Witagron, a drive of approximately 5 hours along one of Suriname’s well-known bauxite roads.
Upon arrival, we enjoy a local lunch, after which the luggage is transferred to the boat. The journey continues by dugout canoe and takes about 3 hours (depending on the water level) to reach the base camp.
In the evening, a warm meal is served and there’s time to relax. A good night’s rest is essential for the climb on day 2.
*In low water conditions, the boat ride may take around 4 hours, and during extreme drought up to 5 hours. You may need to get in and out of the boat along the way.
Day 2 – Jungle hike & the Voltzberg climb
After an early breakfast, we venture into the jungle for an adventurous hike of approximately 3 hours each way, total 6 hours. Along the way, you may spot monkeys, birds, and tropical plants as we make our way through the impressive rainforest.
Our destination is the iconic Voltzberg – an impressive 240-meter granite dome located in the heart of the Central Suriname Nature Reserve. The climb to the top is short but steep and requires determination.
At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view over the vast jungle — an unforgettable experience.
After the descent, we return along the same route and make a refreshing stop at the Anjoemara waterfall to cool off. Back at the camp, we enjoy a well-earned dinner under the stars.
Day 3 – Raleigh Falls & return to Paramaribo
We begin the final day with a visit to the impressive Raleigh Falls, also known as the Moedervallen (“Mother Falls”). These powerful waterfalls, set deep in nature, offer a serene moment of reflection.
After the visit, we return by boat to Witagron, enjoy lunch, and then continue our journey by car back to Paramaribo — leaving the forest behind, but taking the memories with us.

⚠️ Important information during the rainy season
Road transfer (car/bus):
During the rainy season, the unpaved road to the interior may be in poor condition, resulting in longer travel times.
👉 Please note: this may be tiring, especially for guests with back problems or physical limitations.
Water transfer (boat):
Due to the higher water levels during the rainy season, travel time by boat is shorter compared to the dry season, making this part of the journey slightly more comfortable.
