Day 1 – Departure to Seliba via Powakka & Ayo plantation
The journey starts in the morning from Paramaribo, where you will be welcomed with a cup of coffee and a short introduction. Afterwards, you will head south by bus.
Along the way, you will pass the historic Suralco bauxite factory and the indigenous village of Powakka. In Powakka, we visit Mr. ‘Kleine’, who introduces you to the indigenous culture and local products. You’ll learn about traditional cassava preparations and taste homemade specialties, including a locally brewed beer.
After this introduction, we continue the journey to Seliba – a peaceful glamping site surrounded by nature. Upon arrival, you can relax by the pool, try stand-up paddleboarding or unwind in the lounge.
Evening – Jungle walk & campfire
After dinner, the evening adventure begins. During a guided jungle hike, you’ll search for nocturnal animals like frogs, snakes, and other jungle creatures. Afterwards, enjoy time around the campfire, relax in the hot tub, or play games in the lounge.
Day 2 – Howler monkeys, birds & relaxing departure
The next morning, you’ll wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds. Early risers can join a sunrise SUP tour or a guided bird walk to spot rare species like toucans and hummingbirds.
After breakfast, there is still time to swim or relax by the river. After lunch, we say goodbye to Seliba and return to Paramaribo.

Day 1 – Departure via Powakka and Ayo plantation
Your journey begins at our office in Paramaribo, where you will be welcomed in the morning with a cup of coffee and a short introduction. We then head into the interior by bus. Along the way, we pass the former Suralco bauxite factory and stop in the indigenous village of Powakka.
In Powakka, you will visit Mr. ‘Kleine’, who enthusiastically shares the customs of the local community. You’ll learn about cassava processing, taste traditional dishes and try a locally brewed drink.
Then we continue on to Seliba, our luxurious glamping site on the Suriname River. Here you can relax immediately: take a dip in the pool, hop on a SUP board or enjoy the serene jungle surroundings.
Evening – Jungle night safari & campfire
In the evening, a guided jungle walk is on the program. During the tour, your guide will help you spot nocturnal animals like frogs, snakes, and other forest dwellers.
Afterwards, you can unwind by the campfire, relax in the hot tub or play games in the lounge.
Day 2 – Early birds, relaxation & adventure
You’ll wake up to the unique sounds of howler monkeys and tropical birds. Early guests can join a sunrise SUP tour or a guided bird walk to spot toucans and hummingbirds up close.
The rest of the day is free time. Enjoy the pool, read in a hammock, or go on another jungle walk with your guide. At sunset, there’s another chance to take part in an evening nature activity.
Day 3 – Last morning in the jungle
On the last day, you’ll wake up slowly and enjoy breakfast. Afterwards, there’s time for a short activity or one last swim in the pool. After lunch, we say goodbye to Seliba and return to Paramaribo.
