Program
Day 1: Travel day to Kumalu/Ping Pe
- 08:00-09:00 Departure from Paramaribo to Pokigron (3/4 hours drive).
- 12:00 Arrival in Pokigron where we take the boat for our journey to Kumalu or Pingpe.
- Boat ride towards Kumalu passing about 30 villages (3/4 hours boat ride).
- Arrival at Kumalu or Ping Pe island, overnight stay in beds (lodge without air conditioning or fan).
Day 2: Boat trip to Sintiadam
- 08:00 Departure by boat.
- Boat ride along Tapawatra/Gran dam rapids, with several stops for guests to disembark.
- Arrival at Kajana village after 2/3 hours.
- Lunch and village exploration in the afternoon.
- Overnight stay in Kosindo in beds.
Day 3: Boat trip to Sintiadam
- Boat ride to Sintia Dam with a photo stop at the Awaradam rapids.
- Arrival at Sintia Dam in the afternoon after 3/5 hours on the way (including stops to see wildlife)
- Campfire in the evening
- Overnight stay in hammock camp.
Day 4: Hike to Schildpaddenberg
- 08:00 Departure by boat, followed by a 20-minute nature walk.
- Hike to Schildpaddenberg, approximately 5 km each way.
- Return to Sintiadam around 16:00/17:00.
- Overnight stay in hammock camp.
Day 5: Morning boat trip and Evening activities
- +/- 06:00 Morning boat trip: wake up on the river with coffee or tea.
- Morning hike between 9 am and 12 pm with explanations about flora and fauna.
- Afternoon swimming and/or fishing at Sintia Dam.
- Night boat trip after dinner to observe night sounds and animals.
- Overnight stay in the hammock camp.
Day 6: Village exploration and Return to Kumalu/Ping Pe
- Departure to the villages with a 3-hour stop for extensive village walks in 2/3 villages.
- Lunch in one of the villages in the afternoon.
- Continuation of the journey to Kumalu/Ping Pe.
- Overnight stay in beds (lodge without air conditioning or fan).
Day 7: Return to Paramaribo
- Around 07:00 – 07:30 departure by boat back to Atjoni.

Tijdens de Gran Rio Sintiadam expeditie gaat u diep het binnenland in. Hier bevindt zich de ongerepte natuur van Suriname. Onderweg passeert u verschillende Marrondorpen. U vaart dwars door het tropisch regenwoud. Er zijn ook diverse stroomversnellingen. Dit kan vereisen dat u af en toe de boot verlaat. Tijdens de tour maakt u ook een wandeling naar de top van Turtle Mountain.
Cultuur
U maakt ook kennis met de Marroncultuur. Tijdens de tour maakt u een dorpswandeling, waarbij u kunt zien hoe de lokale bevolking in het binnenland leeft.
