Program
The concept of the Kabalebo Nature Resort is such that you have a choice of different programs.
Day activities
For your day activities, you can choose from a number of different programs. The programs are described below, with program 1 (forest walk and boat trip) always fixed on the arrival day and program 9 (kayaking) always fixed on the departure day.
For the days in between, you can choose from the remaining 7 programs in consultation with the resort manager of Kabalebo and the other guests. You choose 1 program per day. The following is an example of the possible program.
Program 1: FWBW – forest walk and boat trip (not changeable)
You depart from our local airport Zorg & Hoop in Paramaribo to Kabalebo, about 1 hour flying, to the west of Paramaribo. The airport is located next to the resort. The welcoming and check-in is done by the management. After the tour, you can enjoy lunch. Then you get ready for a 1 ½ hour forest walk. A forest walk to the FWBW rapids. This forest walk is combined with a boat trip in a dugout canoe. In the afternoon, you float back to the Main Lodge, while enjoying the nature, birds, and forest sounds. In the evening, dinner is served, and you can enjoy one of the delicious Surinamese dishes prepared by the chef. After dinner, the program for the next day is discussed and you can chat or relax on the spacious veranda or in your hammock.
Program 2: Kilo 3 Creek
After your breakfast, you depart silently in a dugout canoe to Kilo 3(three). You enter the Kilo 3 creek, where you will take a beautiful walk through the jungle to the Kilo 3 rapids. Here you will have lunch and relax in the creek. In the afternoon, you return to the Main Lodge where you can relax in a hammock, by the pool, or on the pier along the river. In the evening, you enjoy a delicious Surinamese dinner. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 3: Misty Mountain top (long trail)
After your breakfast, you take a mountain walk through the jungle of about 6 ½ hours to the 500-meter high Misty Mountain. Along the way, the guide will provide you with information about the flora and fauna. Maybe you will hear or see howler monkeys, blue and yellow macaws, the forest bird Screaming Piha (Lipaugus vociferans), frogs, and butterflies. From the top, you have a breathtaking view of the pristine tropical rainforest, the resort, and the mysterious mountains in the south of Suriname. Your lunch is enjoyed at the top of Misty Mountain. On the way back, you visit the Charlie falls where you can relax. Upon your return, you can cool off in the pool or in the hammock and enjoy the scenery around you. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 4: Charlie Falls
After your breakfast, you take a mountain walk through the jungle of about 4 hours to the Charlie Falls at the foot of the Misty Mountain. Along the way, the guide will provide you with information about the flora and fauna. Upon arrival at Charlie falls, you can relax and enjoy your lunch. Upon your return, you can cool off in the pool or in the hammock and enjoy the scenery around you. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 5: Camp via foot mountain (kayaking on return)
After breakfast, you depart for a two and a half hour walk from the foot of the Misty Mountain to the camp, where we will relax for a while before paddling to the Zandkreek. This boat trip takes about 45 minutes and takes you through an area with different vegetation than what you have seen so far. We have lunch at a beautiful rapid where you can relax in the water. In the afternoon, we kayak back to the Main Lodge. After your return, you can cool off in the pool or in the hammock and enjoy the scenery around you. In the evening, you enjoy a delicious Surinamese dinner. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 6: Beechcraft trail (long trail ± 4 hours)
After breakfast, we start at the crashed airplane (beech G18S), where the guide tells you the history of the Beechcraft trail. The trail runs over hills and rocky terrain, and lunch is taken at a small creek, after which you continue your journey to the Main Lodge. After your return, you can cool off in the pool or in the hammock and enjoy the scenery around you. In the evening, you enjoy a delicious Surinamese dinner. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 7: Start via mountain to Moi Moi Waterfall (± 3 hours, return by boat)
After your breakfast, you depart from the foot of the Misty Mountain to the Moi Moi waterfall. Upon arrival, you start an educational forest walk to the Moi Moi waterfall. The knowledge gained about the tropical rainforest becomes more interesting with our guide. Satisfied from the walk, you can further enjoy Moi Moi. Your lunch is served at the falls. In the afternoon, you sail back to the Main Lodge. After the program, you are free to enjoy by the pool, on the terrace, or in your own way. In the evening, you enjoy a delightful Surinamese dinner. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 8: Was Wasie Rapids
After your breakfast, you depart by boat to the Was Wasie rapids, which is a 2 ½ hour boat trip. Along the way, you can enjoy the surrounding nature and wildlife. Upon arrival, you can relax in the water, and your lunch will be served there. In the afternoon, we sail back to the Main Lodge with the possibility of spotting wildlife. After your return, you can cool off by the pool or in a hammock and enjoy the surrounding landscape. In the evening, you enjoy a delightful and cozy dinner. After dinner, the management will provide you with more information about the activities of the next day.
Program 9: Kayaking
On the last day of your stay, you start with breakfast. Then it’s time for a fun activity: kayaking. In a boat, you will be dropped upstream at Krong Soela. There you will switch to a kayak and paddle downstream back to the Main Lodge. As you paddle, you can enjoy and bid farewell to the sounds, scents, and all the beauty of nature around you. After lunch, we bid you farewell, and you fly back to Paramaribo.

Kabalebo accommodation:
River Cabins (incl. Air-conditioning)
The River Cabins are located about 15 minutes walking distance from the Main Lodge. These cabins are situated next to the river. There are three river cabins, each with two single beds, air-conditioning, a bathroom with shower and toilet with hot and cold running water, a refrigerator (mini-bar), and a front terrace. Each of these exclusive bungalows has its own balcony and a staircase leading to the river.
Notes:
- Meals are consumed in the Main Lodge.
- The river cabins cannot be rented without air-conditioning.
- Transportation to and from the cabins is provided by golf cart or dugout canoe. One may also take a relaxing walk to the Main Lodge.

Panorama Suites (incl. Air-conditioning)
These four (4) family-sized suites are located about a 5-minute walk from our Main Lodge, and just a stone’s throw away from our Swimming Pool and Inspiration Point. These are the most spacious and refined accommodation facilities on the resort, featuring queen-size canopy beds and other modern amenities, such as a bathroom with shower and toilet with hot and cold running water, refrigerator with drinks, air-conditioning, and a ceiling fan. The suites can each accommodate up to four guests, making them ideal for individual nature lovers, family getaways, and other group trips. They are perfectly situated with a great mountain and pool view from the balconies. Here you can find peace and serenity while enjoying nature at its best. The suites will cater to your ultimate relaxation needs, while providing both privacy and a sense of freedom. It is also a good location for close encounters with Macaws and Parrots, Agouti, Deer, and Tapir crossing the Airstrip.

Inspiration Point (incl. Air-conditioning)
Inspiration Point is the most luxurious accommodation of Kabalebo Nature Resort with a breathtaking view of the Misty Mountain. It is located at the airstrip, next to an orchard, where you will find yourself surrounded by birds and animals. The lodge contains 6 double rooms, all elegantly furnished, and each provided with a bathroom with shower and toilet with hot and cold running water, a fan, air-conditioning, and also a front and a rear balcony. Inspiration Point offers you all the privacy while at the same time the opportunity to enjoy the impressions you have experienced. Inspiration Point is located next to the swimming pool at 2 minutes walking distance from the Main Lodge. The rooms are serviced daily, and all meals served at the Main Lodge.
Note: The Inspiration Point rooms are rented with air-conditioning.
Facilities
Swimming Pool The swimming pool lies next to Inspiration Point and the airstrip. It offers 12 launches, sunshades, and a bar overlooking the Misty Mountain. A noteworthy attraction is its very stylish wooden deck. The deck offers you the opportunity to regain yourself after your tour of the day and to chew the fat of your impressions, to just sit with a book you have not yet finished, or to relax with a beer while listening to the fascinating sounds of the surrounding birds and animals.
