Another advantage is that the tour takes place close to the city. During the tour you will visit the beautiful beach of Braamspunt, where you will also admire a breathtaking sunset.

Responsible Turtle Watching

Frequently Asked Questions

👕 Dress Code for the Sea Turtle Tour

Sea turtles have limited vision outside of the water and are very sensitive to movement. In order not to disturb their rest, we ask that you wear dark clothing (preferably black). This will help you not stand out during the observation. Consider:

  • Long trousers (or zip-off trousers): protection against plants, ticks and mosquitoes.
  • Long-sleeved shirt or jacket: for extra warmth and protection against mosquitoes.
  • Broken-in walking shoes or sports shoes: comfortable and suitable for walking. Leave new shoes at home to avoid blisters.

🎒 What to bring?

To make your experience comfortable and worry-free, we recommend bringing the following:

  • Sunscreen – for the day at the beach.
  • Flashlight or headlamp with red light – essential for night walks. Red light does not disturb the turtles.
  • Anti-mosquito spray – to protect against mosquitoes.
  • Camera – to capture special moments. Please note: flash is not permitted.
  • Rain poncho or raincoat – the tropical climate can be surprising. Make sure your bag is also protected from rain.
  • Comfortable backpack – preferably one large bag for everything and a small bag for beach visits.
  • Waterproof bag or garbage bag – to protect your belongings from rain or water in the boat.
  • Ziplock bag – for your phone or other electronics in the rain.
  • Extra set of dry clothes + towel – in case you get wet.
  • Own sheet or blanket – it can get chilly in the evening. A hammock is included. You can also bring your own hammock.

There are no fixed departure days – the tour is on request. The tour departs with a minimum of 4 participants.

If you are with 3 people, you can choose to cover the cost of an additional participant to guarantee the tour will go ahead. If the tour is supplemented with additional participants later, you will receive the difference back.

You can also choose to be placed on the waiting list. In that case, we will contact you as soon as there are enough other interested parties.
